There are certain types of Load Shifting Equipment which is exempt from the National High Risk Work Licence and as such, the operator is not required to hold a High Risk Licence or a Certificate of Competency. New South Wales have removed the licence requirement on 01 October 2011.
Even though the Licence requirement has been removed, there is still a requirement for operators of Front End Loaders, Excavators, Backhoes, Skid-Steer Loaders etc to provide evidence of competency and training.
A Blue Card is lasting proof of your training and satisfies this requirement.
Our Blue Card program for Load Shifting is based upon the requirements for the old National Certificate of Competency. Our assessors conduct the assessment in the same manner as they did when Assessing for the old Certificates of Competency (simply put, a person being assessed as competent prior to 1 July 2011 would have been issued with a National Certificate of Competency) Classes:
LB - Front End Loader Backhoe
LE - Excavator
LL - Front End Loader
LS - Skid-Steer Loader
If you were an accredited assessor under the old system, we are interested in hearing from you as we are currently recruiting - we are looking for more suitably qualified and experienced assessors to join our National Team for VOC Assessments.
Our Blue Card is a part of our wider VOC and Short Course Program - you can get your Blue Card with a range of classes, upon completion of a VOC assessment, including High Risk Work Licences and refresher training, or one of our short courses:

The new WHS Legislation requires Persons in Control of Business or Undertaking [PCBU]s to ensure health and safety at work, which includes the provision of training - the training must be relevant to the workplace.
Our programs are tailored to the specific workplace and provides evidence that can be kept in documentary form as required under the new laws on that came in force on 1 January 2012.
